Potière bleue et sauterelle

Au condo des beaux parents, des Potières bleues venaient chercher de l’eau près de la fontaine et sur le bord de la piscine. Le comportement s’explique dans le texte suivant:

This
shiny, deep-blue mud dauber is seen around puddles, nervously flicking
its wings; but, unlike other mud daubers, it is drinking water, not
collecting mud. The blue mud dauber is in fact a parasitic species that
vandalizes the nests of other mud daubers. It uses water to soften the
cell walls in order to enter and remove eggs and provisioned spiders.
It then replaces the host’s eggs with its own, provisions the nest with
paralyzed spiders for its larvae to feed on, and reseals the opening. Source de la citation.
